NORAH HEAD ROAD WORKS TO SAVE LIVES

MORE than $10M is to be invested in vital road safety upgrades to Wilfred Barrett Drive between The Entrance and Norah Head.
Taylor Martin MLC and Liberal Candidate for The Entrance, Brian Perrem, announced the funding recently, saying the road upgrades would save lives.

“There have been seven separate fatal accidents on Wilfred Barrett Drive in the last nine years which is a frightening statistic,” Mr Perrem said.

“These safety improvements will mean more people make it home to their families.

Mr Martin said that the funding was part of the $182M government spend across the state to help save lives.

Improvements on Wilfred Barrett Drive to be made over a two-year period will include: installation of a wire rope barrier on the roadside and median north of Wyuna Avenue for approximately 3.6km; installation of a wire rope barrier on the median, w-beam barrier on the roadside and audio-tactile painted centre line for approximately 2.9km at Pelican

Beach Road; turning lanes, a roadside barrier and improved lighting at The Entrance North; and  cyclist and intersection improvements at Denison Street and Oleander Street Norah Head.
