Agreement over Gosford's transformation
GOSFORD’S transformation into a modern, vibrant city centre is assured thanks to an agreement brokered by Gosford, Erina and Coastal Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber has obtained bipartisan support to keep the revitalisation process in place for the City core.

Chamber President Rod Dever recently met with Liesl Tesch MP, State Member for Gosford and Sue Dengate, Liberal Candidate, to discuss the city and the importance of its continued redevelopment.

Mr Dever said there had been concerns emerging which indicated any changes brought about by the election result in March may see the revitalisation process shut down or stalled.

He said at recent individual meetings, both major party representatives had voiced their support for a continued focus on the city and its future.

“The revitalisation plans for Gosford City are considered by many as a key election issue for both business and the wider community.”

Mr Dever said. “Major party candidates are in support of the city and its redevelopment which is a positive step for the city”.

"The March election seems to be shaping up to be an interesting event with reports voters will show up and have a voice in the future in a positive way."

" Hopefully this will lower the informal vote numbers so local votes count. Indications through the chamber's network are that voters aged 18-30 want to see continued progress and they see this election as a chance to have a say in the future," Mr Dever said.

"Gosford’s revitalisation is key to the region. Changes in leadership locally or at a state level may see some adjustment to the planning and processes however walking away from the significant expenditure already invested would be another false start for the City and would be detrimental to any political party’s future."
