Newcastle Airport expansion continues
CONTINUING its program of expansion and development, Newcastle Airport has opened a new car park in time for summer travel.
The completion of the extension to Long Stay parking adds an extra 157 spaces, providing additional spaces during peak periods. The Airport now has over 2,000 bays, making it easier to Go Smarter, park and fly.  
 
Newcastle Airport CEO, Peter Cock said: “We are expecting a busy period across Christmas, New Year and into the January holiday period, with key events such as the Australian Open in Melbourne. The extra spaces are timely. It’s important to us to provide the infrastructure needed to service our community.  
 
“The community has asked for a number of improvements and we have an ambitious new car park open in time for holiday travel Thursday, 21 December 2016 Continuing its program of expansion and development, Newcastle Airport has opened a new car park in time for summer travel." 
 
The completion of the extension to Long Stay parking adds an extra 157 spaces, providing additional spaces during peak periods. The Airport now has over 2,000 bays, making it easier to Go Smarter, park and fly.

“The community has asked for a number of improvements and we have an ambitious but achievable program of development. I will be excited to share our 20-year Master Plan with our region in the New Year.” 
 
Further car parking will be available in time for the Commonwealth Games and Easter 2018, bringing the total precinct parking capacity to more than 2,500 spaces.
