NEW MINGARA HEALTH PRECINCT

Emergency treatment and total care
A NEW Central Coast Health Precinct has been delivered thanks to an ambitious project called Mingara Health.

Located to the east of the iconic Mingara Recreation Club, it combines a General Practice, Allied Health Services and Neurosciences.

More than 100 guests, including prominent medical professionals and local business representatives, attended the official opening of the region’s newest precinct.

Guests were welcomed by Mingara Medical Director Dr Quinten Willemse before the complex was officially opened by Federal Member for Dobell Emma McBride.

Mingara Health is a modern medical precinct developed by local construction company Stevens Group, in conjunction with the owners of Mingara Medical.

The concept was born in 2012 and has now come to fruition, with the creation of a medical centre providing high quality, integrated medical care to the growing Central Coast region.

The centre includes Mingara Medical, HealthPoint and Central Coast Neurosciences, with the Tumbi Umbi Chemist Outlet relocating soon.

Mingara Medical is a privately-owned practice. Established in 2013, it has grown rapidly due to its reputation as being one of the leaders in general practice on the Central Coast, providing high quality medical services and progressive preventative care.

Mingara Medical has 11 GPs, three practice nurses, on-site Douglass Hanly Moir pathology collection centre, an in-house dietician, diabetic educator and exercise physiologist, efficient practice management and friendly reception staff.

“Mingara Medical delivers all aspects of general practice, including antenatal shared care, advanced skin cancer management, lifestyle medicine, weight management, allergy testing and cosmetic procedures,”. Mingara Medical Director Dr Willemse said.

“We also manage levels of acute care (emergencies), thereby allowing patients to be treated sooner.”  .

HealthPoint’s highly qualified professionals provide expert care in the areas of audiology, chiropractic care, dietetics, exercise physiology, massage therapy, osteopathy, physiotherapy, podiatry, psychology and speech pathology, with more services to come.

Having these services all under the same roof allows for comprehensive patient care, inter-referral capacity and the convenience of having all care in one location.

Bookings can be done directly through HealthPoint or through referrals from any Health Provider. HealthPoint is a private billing practice and accepts all Health Funds, WorkCover, NDIS and EPC referrals.

Central Coast Neurosciences (CCNS) is headed by Associate Professor Jonathan Sturm, a neurologist with 20 years experience.

A full range of neurological services is provided, including neurological testing such as EEGs, nerve conduction testing and EMG, vestibular function and cognitive assessments.
CCNS Research also conducts research studies and clinical trials with a particular focus on dementia.
