GOOD NEWS FOR RESIDENTS

Improved coverage on the way
GOOD news for residents and businesses in the Killcare, Wendoree Park and Spencer areas with improved mobile coverage on the way.
MP Lucy Wicks said the three areas would receive attention under the Priority Locations round of the federal government’s $220M Mobile Black Spots Program.

Killcare will receive funding for a Telstra macro base station to provide improved coverage to areas of Killcare, Killcare Heights, Hardys Bay and  Wagstaffe.

Wendoree Park will see funding for a Telstra macro base station to provide new and improved coverage along the banks of Mangrove Creek and the Hawkesbury River.

And Spencer will have its mobile coverage issues addressed with a base station to be delivered by Optus and due for completion this year.

Mrs Wicks said the new coverage would open doors for local businesses and the community, enabling them to access the same mobile services as those in major cities.

“This is the next step in delivering on a critical election commitment to the Central Coast community,” she said.

“This major investment will see local businesses and residents in the area benefit from access to 21st century communications, and boost community safety through more reliable access to emergency services.”

106 priority locations across Australia will benefit from improved mobile phone coverage with Optus, Telstra and Vodafone to build 102 new base stations under the Priority Location round.
