FUNDS TO ASSIST COPA SURF CLUB

COPACABANA Surf Life Saving Club is set for an upgrade, thanks to a $34,000 Stronger Communities Fund grant from the State Government.
Terrigal State MP Crouch said the money would be well-spent on new roller doors, a LED message board and new outdoor bar tables and stools.

“Copacabana Surf Club has been operating for more than 55 years and is at the centre of the local community,” Mr Crouch said.

“No drownings have occurred on local patrolled beaches for the past two years, which can be attributed to the outstanding lifesavers – including at Copa.”

Copacabana Surf Life Saving Club president Jo Fraser said the club had 375 members and eight patrols which operate over weekends and public holidays throughout the season.

“We are very grateful for the support of Adam and the NSW Government with the funding that’s been made available to us to continue to improve our club and the facilities we offer to members and the community,” he said.
