NEW LEVELS IN MENTAL HEALTH

Facilitating a sense of security
MENTAL health services for young adults have reached a new level at the Central Coast Clinic at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital.

Providing discreet, contemporary services, the clinic caters for young adults, aged 18 and over, struggling with significant and complex mental health issues.

Many serious mental health conditions can emerge in the late teens and early twenties, further complicating an already difficult period of life.

Mental health conditions such as bipolar and schizophrenia, among others, may be more prevalent around this time.
Other common issues that young adults are often vulnerable to include substance abuse, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.

The Central Coast Clinic has an extensive team of psychiatrists and experienced staff to look after the needs of young adults, offering inpatient and day patient education programs to young adult patients.

There is a strong focus on developing and maintaining healthy boundaries and self-management.

The Central Coast Clinic offers private rooms all with their own ensuite. Each room has its own television with access to free to air channels.

The patient lounge room has a television available with access to free to air and Foxtel channels.

The Catering department provides a choice of quality meals, prepared on-site. Special dietary needs are catered for.
Brisbane Waters Private is equipped with state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool facilities and a gym.

The goals for caring for our young adults are to:

• Facilitate a sense of safety and security. The team will assist with safety goals and the development of a workable management plan.
• Assist and support young people while working on past abuse and trauma issues
• Encourage a sense of empowerment through the recognition and development of internal resources
• Promote skill building which enables effective planning for the future, enhance existing social and work functioning and deal constructively with daily functioning
• Develop safety strategies while working on memory or learning coping skills.
