MY AGED CARE COMES TO THE PENINSULA

Easy access to face-to-face services
THE Federal Government is supporting senior Australians on the Peninsula to more easily access the aged care system through new face-to-face services being rolled out in our local community.
The new personalised service is part of the Australian Government’s $18.3B aged care reform package to deliver a system built on respect, care and dignity for senior Australians, their families and carers.

Federal Member for Robertson, Lucy Wicks MP said an Aged Care Specialist Officer is now available in the Woy Woy Services Australia Centre to provide senior Australians and their families with personalised support.

“Planning for aged care can be overwhelming for many older Australians and their families.

That’s why I am so committed to ensuring that senior Australians across the Central Coast have more choices and clear information when it comes to the services they can access,” Ms Wicks said.

“This new initiative builds on the Australian Government’s My Aged Care website and call centre, making it easier for senior Australians and their loved ones to make decisions about care as they age.

“Whether you’re looking for help at home or you’re considering a move to residential aged care, Services Australia staff can assist you and step you through the process,” Ms Wicks said.

“Services Australia’s Aged Care Specialist Officer at Woy Woy Service Centre can provide in-depth information about aged care services, offering financial information, registration and referral for aged care assessments, and connecting senior Australians with local support services, social workers, interpreters and advocates.”

Appointments with an Aged Care Specialist Officer can be made by visiting the Woy Woy Service Centre (87 – 89 Blackwall Road, Woy Woy NSW 2256) or by calling 1800 227 475.

Visit My Aged Care for information about government aged care services, and Services Australia for information about Aged Care Specialist Officers.
