Partnership strengthens community bonds
BREAKERS Country Club Wamberal has committed to a three-year sponsorship for the naming rights of the Gosford City Basketball and Sports Stadium (GCBSS) located at Terrigal.

The deal will see the stadium be rebranded to Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium. The stadium will continue to provide high class indoor sporting facilities for the local community, offering a range of sports including basketball, netball, volleyball, dancing, exercise vlasses as well as events such as regional sporting tournaments and trade shows.
Recently celebrating its 25th birthday, GCBSS is a multi-purpose indoor venue with four championship-sized courts and a grandstand capable of housing up to 1000 people.
The stadium currently welcomes 7,500 local community members to the stadium on a weekly basis, making it an important hub for indoor sport on the Central Coast.
Breakers CEO Ken Pearson said: “This partnership will strengthen our already strong community awareness and support, that is in line with our strategic plan and constitution.
We look forward to continuing the positive impact that Breakers have on the local community with providing quality facilities and enabling a healthy and active lifestyle for people of all ages”.
The stadium’s independent board of directors and the staff ha been successful in obtaining several NSW, Commonwealth and Central Coast Council grants to improve facilities for its members and the community.
GCBSS General Manager, Mick Ryan says: “This is an exciting time for us, there have been a number of positive milestones reached in the past 18 months. This would not have been possible without the support and assistance from Terrigal MP Adam Crouch, Lucy Wicks and the Central Coast Council.
“Our board and staff have a vision to maintain the current facility to a high standard and of course we wish to expand the stadium in the coming years to meet the ever-growing community need by providing an additional two courts.
“This will allow us to support the Central Coast Council Community Strategic Plan objectives allowing us to host more regional and National Tournaments that will further increase tourism to the Central Coast area.”
